Dominical Beach is located 28 km west of the city of San Isidro del General, San Jose.
Dark sand beach, with strong, criss-cross swell, is 1.8 km long. The presence of rocks during low tide and seaboard currents make this beach dangerous for bathers.
Hermosa Beach is located 14 km south of Dominical.
Beach 6 km long and considerably wide with soft swell, and grayish compacted sands.
Uvita Beach is located 16 km south of Dominical Beach inside The Ballena "Wahales Marine National Park", Osa, Puntarenas. Playa Uvita is situated within the Marino Ballena National Park.
4 km long. One of the best beaches in tie coastal area as a bay with very little swell, ideal for recreation, horseback riding, snorkeling, kayaking and scuba diving. White sand and clear water.
Garza Beach is located South of Boca Brava, 21 km from Palmar Norte.
6.5 km long. Suitable for walks, yet not for bathing. The southern tip is known as Boca Brava (Angry Mouth) Beach. The beach is wide with a very damaged vegetation cover. Certain parts are suitable for professional surfing. To the north, on the other side of Punta Garza, is a rocky beach called Playa Rosada (Pink Beach) due to the color of its sand. A small fishing community, Garza offers sunbathing, swimming, walking and sport-fishing tours.
Tortuga Beach is Located 15 km NW of Cortes city, Osa, Puntarenas.
This 2.5 km long grayish sand beach is part of the Grande de Ten-aba River delta. The width of the beach gives it high scenic value and it is suitable for surfing and sailing.
Drake Bay is located Exactly NW of Osa Peninsula, 1 hour and 30 min. by waterway from Sierpe.
Adequate for fishing and recreational travel. According to the legend, Sir Francis Drake, the pirate, had his hideout in the bay; from here the name. It is said that he hid his treasures in a cave on Violin Island.
Drake Bay offers long, powerful waves when the swell is running. Boca del Río Sierpe, is another place with exciting potential for the same kind of waves. Corcovado National Park is an adjacent kingdom of lush, tropical wilderness, approximately 1-1/2 hours by boat.
Matapalo Beach is located South of the city of Quepos, Puntarenas.
8.5 km long. Grayish sand, excellent right point located in front of Pavones. No type of service offered to visitors, except for a trail along the entire beach; you can get there by road from Pavones or by car from Golfito. Perfect waves. From its long brown sand beach, awarded with the Environmental Blue flag and spot for sea turtle egg laying, the nearby mountains of the Fila Costeña can be observed and in the distance it is possible to make out Mogote Island and Manuel Antonio National Park.
Zancudo Beach is located around 20 km south of Golfito in the Puntarenas province. 5 Kms north of Pavones
Beach with fine dark gray sands, crystal clear, blue waters. With a peaceful swell and abundant vegetation, this beach is approx. 11 km long. Playa Zancudo also lies near a mangrove swamp with great opportunities to view much of the local wildlife. Watch out for the many birds, monkeys and crocodiles that live in the area.
Pavones Beach is located from Golfito (Rodeo) to the community of Conte and thereafter 18 km south to Pavones, Puntarenas.
Light brown sands, a beach for suffers. It is 1.5 km long, worldwide known for its- very "long wave". A quaint mile long beach, Pavones lies around 15 km south of Playa Zancudo and has some of the best surf on the Pacific Coast of North & South America
